The mean number of mutational events needed to reach the global fitness peak decreases linearly with increasing starting fitness of the parameter set. The data is average of 100 distinct simulations for each set of parameter values and a k value. For K equal to 5 and 7, for all starting fitnesses (except 0.8525), the populations get trapped in local optima and never reach the global peak. As a result, the number of mutations to reach global peak is infinite, and hence, not shown on the graph
