  1. Shown is the impact of conceivable types of expression changes on interaction partners regarding all individual rewiring events per transition. The six types of expression changes were weighted by their proportional contribution to each event during the pairwise comparison step (cause proportional) or as the sole contributing cause (cause exclusive). In the latter case, rewiring events that had more than one explanatory transcriptomic cause in a transition were annotated as “mixed”. Additionally, the amount of causal relevance lost due to this stricter notion is given as percentage in absolute and relative terms
