  1. a The data refers to that obtained at the end of fermentation (48 h for resting cell; 144 h for batch). A 0.5 % glucose and 1.5 % xylose sugar mixture was used for batch fermentation; while a 0.5 % glucose and 2 % xylose sugar mixture was used for resting cell fermentation
