The biochemical map of reactions involved in the EGFR signalling pathways [6]. Reactants are connected by arrows that indicate interaction (and consumption) with other reactants. Each reaction has a number depicted in grey, and those with a second number refer to the reaction of internalized species. For example, reaction v1 binds together an EGF and an EGFR molecule; reaction v13 produces EGFR molecules. Each reaction can be also reversed. Dotted coloured lines indicate the boundaries of seven signaling modules: EGF (blue), Grb2 (red), Ras Shc-dependent (light green on the left), Ras Shc-independent (dark green on the right), Raf (pink), MEK (yellow), and ERK (maroon). The interface molecules which interact between modules are highlighted in yellow boxes.
